He makes all things new

April 20, 2002 the day hell became ravenous to war with a couple that threatens the kingdom of darkness. The plan was formed to stop at nothing until their marriage covenant was destroyed. If we only knew the power we held.
We almost let hell win. We wear the fresh wounds from battle. We became weak, exhausted, ready to surrender to the enemy of our souls. You see we didn't fight from a place of humility, power, love, or peace we fought from pride, anger, lust, and everything else in common with darkness. We did not pick up our swords warring with truth, praise, the name of JESUS. We warred with flesh and it nearly destroyed us.
We were told we were too young. We were accused of having to get married. It felt like the entire universe was against a young couple in love with big dreams.
Many sleepless nights and entertaining thoughts of "maybe they were right" later I think we are learning grace. I think we have captured the breath of restoration. Restoration is trying to breathe life back into our brittle bones will we let it? Will we die to self, die to expectations and our own agendas? Will we let God rebuild?
It is time to buckle around us the belt of truth. Place on the breastplate of righteousness. May our feet be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Let us take up the shield of faith so we can extinguish all the flaming arrows that come from the evil one. Take up the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. It is time to battle together and not against each other.
You are not my enemy my beloved.
I choose you.
I choose us.
He makes all things new.
